Side Effects of Passing 70

Yesterday I heard several stories from friends whose loved ones were going through difficult medical traumas. They had shoulder aches or diabetes problems but were not worth mentioning compared to their mother's dementia or husband's liver cancer. Sometimes they laughed a little at the many aches and pains of being older and sometimes got a sad look in their eyes, visualizing the impending loss of family members.
A good side effect of passing 70 is that we made it this far, and still have some very good days to remember with a smile. We have trips planned or a friend to check up on, and are feeling a little blessed we are still in our place and taking care of business.
The more I talk to over 70's, the more I admire the stamina, hopefulness, and connectiveness they show me.
My adventure walks with Bailey my dog is one

of my side effects of passing 70. If you would have convinced me six years ago not to get a dog I would've missed hundreds of opportunities for the two of us to have this wonderful walks outside, interacting with neighbors and their dogs, seeing the birds start populating the neighborhood, and getting the exercise I need to keep living a healthy, satisfied life!
