Stress Over Multiple Physical Challenges

During conversations with a couple of my rounding 80 friends, I heard worry about how to manage trouble walking, hearing, incontinence, and sight issues. They also talked about the many specialist appointments taking up their whole week.
In the meantime, between these tune-up appointments, they are trying to maintain their households, including getting groceries, doing laundry, paying bills, and connecting with family and friends. This season of life needs a lot of support and leaning into each other, comparing notes is essential to maintaining our emotional health.
The outcome of this leaning into each other is that we have a network of other agers to compare notes with, and to normalize our many "breakdowns" of physical parts. To the person it is happening to, it feels like a crisis; to the medical field, it is just another issue. We agers have never been old before, so it is new to us, and by sharing with each other, we get to relieve some of our stress. Just remember, it is not your fault; you have done nothing wrong. Bodies start deteriorating, and we never know which part is going to react to the long-term use. So glad you are here today! Thanks for being here.
